Temple Beth Emeth Albany NY

What We Believe

Our mission is to worship God in accordance with the faith of Reform Judaism; to cultivate love and understanding of the Jewish heritage; to stimulate fellowships in the Jewish Community, to strengthen spiritual enrichment and the bonds of loyalty with the Jewish people everywhere; and to bring near the kingdom of God on earth through an emphasis on fairness, human responsibility and social justice in society at large.

What is Reform Judaism?
Throughout history, Jews have remained firmly rooted in Jewish tradition, even as we learned much from our encounters with other cultures. Nevertheless, since its earliest days, Reform Judaism has asserted that a Judaism frozen in time is an heirloom, not a living fountain.

Resolutions
The positions of the Reform Movement are based primarily in two sources: Resolutions adopted by the Union for Reform Judaism, and resolutions adopted by the Central Conference of American Rabbis.
