MEMBERSHIP AT BETH EMETH

WELCOME TO CONGREGATION BETH EMETH!!

We view affiliation with our congregation as a covenant - a bond that nurtures Jewish traditions, is concerned with our spiritual welfare and education, and which touches our congregants during some of the most significant moments of their lives.

As the 4th oldest Reform Jewish congregation in the United States, celebrating its 175th anniversary this year, Congregation Beth Emeth (CBE) enjoys a rich and interesting history alongside a vibrant, exciting present. Today's Beth Emeth reflects the best of Reform Jewish tradition combined with modern activities that many Capital Region families seek, including web-streamed services for those who may be ill or cannot attend. Everything we do, however, is based on a foundation of respect for welcoming and valuing everyone's place in our congregational community.

CBE is much more than a house of worship. We provide Jewish education for our children, life-long learning for adults and a variety of activities that enrich our congregation's families, including numerous opportunities to volunteer. There are also programs to promote the development of our youth during their most critical years. Beth Emeth is also known for addressing community needs, as well as those of our own families, through social action, and outreach activities and initiatives. And when help is needed by any of our members, a swift and caring response can be counted on.

If you are interested in being a part of this proud tradition, we would love to hear from you. Please call our Executive Director Gail Kendall at 436.9761 ext 225 or e-mail her - . In addition to sending you a packet with information about the congregation, she can arrange for a tour of the Temple and/or religious school, a call from a member of the clergy, or a visit from me or another congregant to answer your questions.

If you know of a new neighbor or colleague at work, or students attending graduate or professional school who may be interested in affiliating with our congregation, please recommend that they contact Gail Kendall or me. Please note that financial constraints are not a barrier to membership and the discussion of such needs is completely confidential.

We are very proud of our experienced and caring clergy, staff, and Board members who look forward to meeting you at services, religious school or special events.

Congregation Beth Emeth is a warm and friendly house of worship, which is why CBE has been an important part of my own family's traditions for many years.

If you would like to speak with me as a member of the Board of Trustees - whether you are a current congregant, or a prospective member seeking more information - please give me a call (439.1127 evenings) or email me () a convenient time to contact you.
